Porcupine Mountains Music Festival

Good afternoon. We, the organizers of the Porcupine Mountains Music Festival send our love and concern out to the world as we all deal with the uncertainty of the current COVID-19 situation. Wishing love and strength to our volunteers, performers, audience members, to those who have become sick, to those who have friends or family fighting for their lives or who have perished, to our amazing and brave health care workers, first responders, and government officials leading the charge headfirst into the crisis, to our clergy and spiritual guides, to our essential service workers going out to perform their jobs each day to take care of us, to those who find themselves suddenly without work and facing financial difficulties, and to those struggling with anxiety and mental overload. While we have no timeline, be certain that this too shall pass.

It remains to be seen whether the COVID-19 virus will affect the operations of the 16th Annual Porcupine Mountains Music Festival. We are monitoring the State Park system, as well as the events of our peers and are paying close attention to everything, including timelines and state mandates. To date, our booking process has been ongoing and we continue our event planning process with an eye on timelines and state mandates. While some have asked how this will affect our event scheduled for August 28 – 30, 2020, we believe it premature to make those decisions. The COVID-19 situation remains fluid and changes day-by-day. We are hopeful that in August, we shall gather to experience the good, good music and dance! Please watch for updates here on our Facebook page and our website porkiesfestival.org

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of uncertainty and please take good care of yourselves by social distancing, hand washing, trying to find things each day that bring you joy, embracing the slow down and quiet, connecting with nature, enjoying and financially supporting (if you have the wherewithal) the abundance of musical performances shared online…and please be kind to yourself. This is an unprecedented time for us, testing us on so many levels. We are strong, we can do this. This will end, and we will reconnect with and embrace those we love, frequent our favorite businesses, concerts and events, enjoy the things that we do every day, and we will DANCE…doing all with a newfound appreciation, like never before. What a glorious day it shall be!
